Walking with Strength, Courage and Hope for the Cure to Rare Sarcoma Cancers

500 Joined us in Miami Beach Raising Money for Sarcoma Research

On Sunday April 17, 2016,  500 people walked around Palm and Hibiscus Islands in order to raise funds and awareness for Sarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. The crowd gathered at Palm Island Park to register, hear speeches, and sample delicious food and juice. Miami Beach Commissioners Grecco, Malakoff & Steinberg kicked off the day with a proclamation from the City of Miami Beach proclaiming April 17, 2016 Wendy Walk Day.

We then heard from the founders of Wendy Walk (Ali, Matt, and Jackie) and from Dr. Jonathan Trent, the Director of the Sarcoma Medical Research Program at Sylvester Cancer Center. The event raised over $35,000 dollars for Sarcoma research and was well attended by students from Miami Country Day School, Gulliver Preparatory School, Ransom Everglades School, Miami Beach High and the University of Miami. This event would not have been possible without the dedication of Wendy’s family members, the co-founders of Wendy Walk Miami: Michael, Stephanie, Sierra, Kayla, and Alec Rosen.

We are very happy to report that the event was covered by The Miami Herald.
