With the money we raised… we will give several grants including a grant to the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy’s sarcoma project at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington.
Highlights from the walks:
In Los Angeles. Patrick Dempsey was our host, Angela Manuel-Davis (Master Soul Cycle Instructor and Motivational Speaker) gave the keynote address. Also in attendance were Jerry Trainor from iCarly, Justin Baldoni from Jane The Virgin, Chelsea Kane from Baby Daddy, and Megan Park from The Secret Life of The American Teenager, and musician Tyler Hilton.
The keynote address in Miami was given by Dr. Jonathan Trent, M.D., Ph.D. co-director of the sarcoma medical research program at Sylvester Cancer Center at University of Miami. Many participants were from Silvester Cancer Center’s sarcoma team including Dr. Trent’s nurses, fundraising professionals, and family members of his patients.
At Wendy Walk New York City, hundreds walked, and five sarcoma survivors and their families joined us. The keynote speaker was 11-year sarcoma survivor Geraldine Moriba, who co-directed the documentary Until 20 about James Ragan’s final year of his life with osteosarcoma.
